The view alone is worth the price.
But throw in the fact that this was once home to Frank and Barbara Sinatra, and its value soars.
Ol’ Blue Eyes lived here from the time it was built in 1992 until he died in 1998. Barbara was here until she passed away last year.
And now it’s on the market.
The house was designed by Edward “Ted” Grenzbach, who was known as the “Architect to the Stars.” And for good reason: He also designed homes for Johnny Carson, Barbara Streisand, Gene Kelly, Rod Stewart and Cher.
For the Sinatras, he whipped up a 5,800 square foot, seven-bedroom, and nine-bath affair. “It’s a big house,” says Leonard Rabinowitz, a friend of the family who’s handling its sale.
The guest list over the years was about what one would expect: Gregory Peck, Jack Lemmon, Dick Martin, Robert Wagner, Louis Jourdan, Steve Lawrence, and Dick Van Dyke.
And Barbara carefully looked after this home. “It’s been well-maintained,” he says. “It doesn’t look like a ‘90s house.”
The ideal buyer?
“We’re seeing a lot of private equity people from New York who are tired of driving to the Hamptons – they spend a lot of time getting out there and then it rains, and here we have 300 perfect days a year,” he says. “They have their own planes and the airport in Camarillo is a 20-minute drive to the beach area.”
So someone could actually live up to what Sinatra had engraved on his headstone:
“The Best Is Yet to Come.”
It’s priced at a cool $12.9 million.
