It’s not enough to win “Best in Show” for furniture at the 2014 WestEdge Design Fair in Los Angeles.

Or to sponsor the Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon earlier this month.

No. Resource Furniture is on a roll. And it’s about to introduce some very interesting pieces for the 2015 WestEdge, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica from Oct. 22-25.

Like Nature, the latest wall covering line in a collection by photographers Tom Haga and Lena Johnsen, featuring high resolution images of dramatic Norwegian forest, mountain, farm and ocean scenes. It’s printed on removable, PVC-free wallpaper made from sustainably managed forests. The collection is a single custom-printed image to create a huge trompe l’oeil effect – as large as 15 x 24 feet without repeat.

“It’s self-adhesive – you use water to apply it to the wall,” says design director Challie Stillman. “It lasts indefinitely – as long as it’s in style and fits your mood – and it’s not temporary, though it is removable.”

Then there’s Plurimo , a new concept in extension tables that expands in both width and length, with hidden extensions and self-storing leaves. It’s available in five sizes, and comes in three heights: standard, counter and bar.

“It can come with a sealed cement top that’s heat-proof, stain-resistant and water-resistant, so it can be used in the kitchen,” she says.

Also: the Goliath Outdoor dining table, with its powder-coated steel and aluminum-clad leaves, can expand from a slim console to a nine-foot table suitable for a large dinner party.

“It starts out as a console, and you add leaves for a table for four or six or more, if you want,” she says.

But this is Resource Furniture, after all – where almost everything is multi-functional.
