Hastings Tile & Bath has introduced three new lines of sleek, imported vanities – Made, Sign and Viva – to the market, so A+A recently interviewed the company’s director of bath products, Bob Gifford, via email last week:
Who are the designers?
Hastings Tile & Bath works with artisan manufacturers in Italy on the production of these vanities.
The materials?
Wood, lacquered wood, solid surface, glass (sandblasted and tempered)
Thematically, what ties them together?
Design flexibility is the core theme; Hastings’ wanted to import a collection of vanities that offered a significant number of design options.
The intent of the designs?
As with all vanities and products imported by Hastings Tile & Bath, contemporary styling is the key intent. No wasted space or frivolous extras; these vanities are clean and sophisticated.
The inspiration?
Hastings decided to ‘bring color back’ in a big way this year; all of our products are available in wonderful color palettes. White might still be the fall-back finish but for designers and architects willing to take chances, we wanted to be able to offer them the largest selection to choose from.
The target market?
Perfect for residential or commercial environments, because of the flexibility of the options.
The color palette?
Made is offered in a palette of 51 matching colors for cabinets and glass tops in matte or gloss finish.
Viva’s cabinets are available with glass tops with integrated basins and are stocked in Glossy White, Matte Titanium and Glossy Graphite
Sign is available in matte and gloss white plus four oak finishes (white, brown, grey, light) or 51 colors (including metallic’s) with matte, gloss or matte lacquered oak finish.
The price range?
Made prices start around 4,000 list; They can range in size from 70cm to 240cm. Viva starts at $1975.00, depending on configuration, and Sign starts around $2300.00, also depending on configuration.
